We will be “casting” 8 ensemble members that represent the breadth of diversity and pluralism we are seeking as outlined above. The 8 ensemble members will work together from March 2012 through June 2013 to produce Viva Revival, a multiple-perspective, interdisciplinary, interactive art exhibition rooted in performance. This EXHIBITION will be held in a gallery and not a traditional theatrical venue. The ensemble will play a coordinating, convening, and creative role in the production of the exhibition. Depending on decisions made by the ensemble, how ensemble members “show up” within the exhibition will be varied. (ie. some ensemble members my curate performance, some may create videos showcasing a particular belief system [e.g. Muslim, atheist, pagan] and sexuality, some may construct sets about a particular belief system’s representation of gender, etc.)
Time commitments vary over the course of the 16-month production cycle. Most iteration will happen at April 2012, November 2012, and April 2013 retreats with major creation and production happening May 2013-June 2013. During the months between retreats, ensemble members will work to produce community events exploring the intersections of belief, sexuality, and gender to engage a broader community and ensure a multiplicity of voices inform iteration, creation, and production.
